Womp Runner Development

  Character Bio: Womp Runner

The Womp Runner is a small mammalian biped, which resembles a chicken on steriods. The Womp Runner is named for the strange 'womp' sound it makes when it runs. It has large legs in proportion to the rest of its body, and proportionally small and somewhat useless arms much like those of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. It feeds on insects and jungle vegetation. They usually stay in groups of 4 to 10, and have developed an interesting strategy for hunting Treesappers which are hiding underground. They can locate them using their sense of smell, but lack the ability to dig them out, so the group will form a circle and begin pummeling their feet on the ground rapidly. This makes the earth vibrate and cause the Treesapper to rise to the surface, where it is savaged in a frenzy of womp sounds. Womp Runners lack any real defense mechanisms, and despite their seeming ingenuity with the Treesapper hunting technique, appear to have a very low intelligence. Luckily they have a very short reproductive cycle meaning that their numbers never seem to dwindle.
